116,000 SF research facility

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

This new Biotechnology Cancer Research Center was constructed using a fast-track delivery method. U.W. Marx served as Construction Manager At-Risk on the facility, which was built as part of a New York State economic development program.

The 116,000 SF research facility contains labs, vivarium, offices, conference spaces, seminar auditorium and fitness suite, allowing university faculty to conduct collaborative cancer research with industry partners in a state-of-the-art biotechnology facility. The facility houses specialized research areas for molecular biology, bioinformatics, genetic exploration and pre-clinical studies.

The Cancer Research Center also features a two-story “Wall of Memory and Hope” displaying plaques or inscriptions from donors who wish to memorialize individuals affected by cancer.
